bomp pop pupsicles

the summer classic but a dog-friendly version for your best friend (and their best friends). this makes one batch based on basic popsicle molds found literally anywhere (but we've linked our favs below). you can also use frozen fruit! this recipe is so simple, but we do recommend letting each layer freeze before adding the next.

pro tip: pre-prep all of the layers and throw the remaining two in the fridge in shaker cups while your first layer is freezing. you can give the next layer a good shake before adding it.

pro tip #2: use a funnel!!!! make your life easier :)

ingredients:

  • 1.5 C. strawberries
  • 1.5 C. blueberries
  • 0.5 C. plain Greek yogurt
  • 1 C. water

instructions:

  1. if using fresh fruit, rinse and remove any stems.
  2. red layer: blend strawberries with 1/4 C. water until smooth. pour into molds until 1/3 full. let freeze for one hour. (no need to put the popsicle stick in yet as we're just letting it harden enough to place our next layer.)
  3. white layer: blend Greek yogurt with 1/2 C. water until smooth. add to the top of strawberry layer in molds until 2/3 full. add the popsicle sticks and return to freezer for one hour.
  4. blue layer: blend blueberries with 1/4 C. water until smooth. carefully remove popsicle sticks and fill blueberry layer to the top. replace the popsicle sticks and freeze four hours to ensure they are completely ready.
  5. for easy removal, run under hot water for a few seconds!
